The New Jersey and Greater New York Chapters of the Association of Fundraising Professionals are pleased to present the Second Annual NJ/NY Summit on Philanthropy
Our theme ...
Philanthropy & the New Normal
The Second Annual AFP NJ/NY Summit on Philanthropy takes a look at fundraising in the “new normal” – the aftermath of the financial crisis – from three perspectives – a prominent foundation, a major educational institution, and an expert in integrated online and offline fundraising.
Last year’s Summit offered a real time analysis of the dislocation in philanthropy in the midst of the global financial meltdown. The Second Annual Summit considers the repercussions of the unprecedented recession for fundraising in the United States.
Our distinguished contributors will make individual presentations followed by a panel discussion. Some of the topics they will cover are:
- How are foundations responding to the impacts of the post-recession economy? What are the effects on programmatic strategies?
- What are the roles of online fundraising and social networking in the current economic environment? How do you integrate online and offline strategies in this turbulent period? Can integrated campaigns help you maneuver through the economic downturn?
- Are large capital campaigns still viable in the “new normal?” How do you develop and execute such campaigns? What are the strategies for success?
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the medium term impacts of the financial crisis on specific sectors in fundraising
- Consider fundraising strategies to weather the post-recession environment
- Hear best practices in integrated online and offline integrated campaigns
- Learn tactics to develop and launch a capital campaign in the midst of uncertainty
- Network with colleagues from one of the largest philanthropic regions in the nation and share plans and best practices
Join fellow practitioners and volunteer leaders to hear from experts about the challenges and opportunities facing philanthropy. During the networking luncheon you’ll have an opportunity to share best practices and approaches with your colleagues.
