AFP-New Jersey's Annual Conference on Philanthropy

Over 300 fundraising professionals attended the AFP-NJ Chapter's 2009 Conference on Philanthropy entitled Navigating the New Reality where they learned new skills to adapt to the changing landscape and met new contacts to help them implement new ideas. Below are some photographs of the exciting day ...

Event participants were treated to a continental breakfast and affinity roundtables where they were able to discuss a variety of fundraising topics.

Pictured is Mal Warwick, a well-known author, trainer and consultant who presented a morning session entitled: How to Write Successful Fundraising Appeals. Jerry Panas, our 2009 Conference Keynote Speaker, is pictured presenting a session on The Art of Asking to conference attendees.
Margaret Holman, President of Holman Consulting, Inc., raises her hand and asks a question to the audience during her Improving Your Solicitation Skills session. It was "standing room only" during Karen Osborne's afternoon presentation entitled Creating a Culture of Philanthropy and Stewardship where she helped to define a culture of philanthropy and stewardship for nonprofits and development professionals.
Event participants visited a variety of displays by our resource partners who provide valuable services and a great source of ideas and products to advance our profession. Attendees who visited all the vendor booths were entered into a raffle to win a free Amazon Kindle donated by Lori Richmond of DWP Business Services & Special Events Management, two tickets to a performance at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, donated by Peter Hansen of NJPAC or a free registration to our 2010 Conference on Philanthropy, donated by the AFP-NJ Chapter. We sincerely thank our Conference sponsors, resource partners, and the conference committee members for making this year's event a huge success!
